Missions Rummage Sale
On August 22nd and 23rd we sponsored the 6th Annual Missions Rummage Sale. We had a new location for the sale this year and changed it from a one day sale to a two day sale for the first time. The sale raised $8,500.00 that was used to support missionaries in Poland, Mexico and Haiti. Praise the Lord!
The Pastor of the Haiti Christian Ministry Center, Lavaud Cheristin, was here in the state of Wisconsin and was able to attend the Missions Rummage Sale. We all had a great time hearing about the things going on in the ministry.
HCMC Student Sponsorship Program
One of the most exciting things happening at VOC is the Haiti Christian Ministry Center Student Sponsorship Program. At our meeting in January, Mary Rutten presented the early plans for this program and requested to partner with VOC to run the program. Developments in the last couple of months have placed the responsibility to manage the U.S. side of the program with VOC alone. The brochures explaining HCMC / CPOD School and The Sponsorship Program are complete, printed, and available. We also have completed and printed 50 profiles of students that are available to be sponsored. We kicked off the program by making these available at the rummage sale and also promoted the program at The Vine Christian Fellowship. We already have some students sponsored. • September 13: Mary R. will be operating a brat and hamburger booth at Kaukauna’s Fall Festival to raise money for HCMC. If you want more information or would like to help, please contact VOC.
• September 27: VOC will be co-sponsoring a food booth at Appleton’s Octoberfest. If you want any information or would like to help please contact Dan P. at VOC.
• October 11: Members from VOC will be doing a missions rummage sale at Amherst Bible Church.
• The Haiti Teacher and Christmas Project is in progress and will be shipped out at the end of October or early November. This will be the first year we will have a Christmas party & gifts for the Haiti church members, not just their children. For more information contact Amber B. or Margie V.
