Successful Delivery to the Tahanan ng Kabataan Orphanage - Philippines.

In the past year, VOC sent 4 large Balik-Bayan (going home boxes) to the Tahanan ng Kabataan (Home of the Homeless Children) in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.  The children and the orphanage staff were very grateful for the boxes and the financial contributions.  We have much to do to further the help for these homeless children in the name of Jesus, but we have been encouraged by all that God has done to make this possible ~ certainly the burden is light when we have the joy of knowing the impact our efforts are having on real situations and real lives.  The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Continue joining in with us as we journey into the world of working together to help children in need around God's great planet!

Did you know that VOC was in the news this month?  YES, a large donation was made to the Haiti project, 2 years after the disaster that shook the country, and it caught the media attention.  See the local news footage on our Missions News tab: http://voiceofcompassion.org/missions-news.html.  Today, I'd like to spotlight SCA's own article from SCA's Torkusa.com division, regarding it's amazing donation to the people of Haiti: http://www.torkusa.com/Resources/400/Sca-News/SCA-Donates-25000-of-Liquid-Soap-to-Meet-Hygiene-Needs-in-Haiti/  Thanks SCA!

Read all about SCA's generosity, and how a small group of people working in the name of Jesus can make a tremendous difference in the lives of those in need.  Click "Read More" to find out!

Haiti Trip 2010

7/31/2010

Dear Friends of Voice of Compassion (VOC),
I have just recently returned from a trip to Haiti to work with the Haiti Christian Ministry Center (HCMC) whose founder is Lavaud Cheristin.  There were seven others also on this great adventure.  I have been to Haiti many times, but because of the recent earthquake this trip was unique.  We accessed Haiti through the Dominican Republic and we were unsure how we would get to Port-au-Prince.  GOD blessed us so many times during this trip, the first of which was a man at the Santa Domingo Airport.  It turned out, this man was a pilot and helped us get a plane so we were able to fly from the Domican Republic to Port-au-Prince Haiti.  This saved us one day of travel, thus we were able to see much destruction in Port-au-Prince (PAP) and hear the stories of Lavaud and his family...
